If we’re to be attacked by an advanced hostile alien race, transponder on or off will be the slightest of problems.

What we’ll need is Will Smith, a computer virus and a nuke.

What I mean is that advanced alien tech will be able to follow our fighter jets without the use of SSR, WAM or ADS, and to turn off the transponder will be pointless.
