They have confirmation that D.C., with accomplices, contrived the Nord Stream break. They can't ignore this fact. Not that they did not already know, but having it revealed publicly does have to reflect in their actions. Citizens of a country that sabotaged your own, would be at risk in some way. Not that Russia would tolerate bad acts towards Americans there. That is not a scenario that they desire.
