For those that live around there. Did you see smoke, smell anything, see a huge reporting of first responders? Just wanting some first hand observations. People should be talking about this on local Facebook groups, in the break room etc. Is there really crickets about this everywhere? Even with people in the community?
Slight smell about 20 miles north of the accident. Nothing crazy. Others in the near vicinity of me have said it got pretty bad in the area around the Southern Park Mall in Boardman OH, smelled pretty heavily of burnt plastic and chlorine
However, if it was that bad in Boardman, everything south of Boardman had to be affected even more. I'm assuming that people in Columbiana county have been exposed to this on a much higher level which should be highly concerning
Unfortunately for us in the greater Youngstown area, we get a lot of our drinking water from meander reservoir. I haven't noticed any problems with the water yet
Phosgene, which smells like moldy hay, is also an irritant but six times more deadly than chlorine gas.
Phosgene is also a much stealthier weapon: it's colorless, and soldiers did not at first know they had received a fatal dose. After a day or two, victims' lungs would fill with fluid, and they would slowly suffocate in an agonizing death.

Thanks for the info. I will say a prayer for you and your neighbors.
Live about 100 miles away, nothing but clear skies today. Nobody at work except 1 person has talked about it.
I love by cleveland. 65 miles away. Skies are clear here. No smells.
Interesting, you’d think that’s all everyone would be talking about. It really proves that if the news isn’t talking about neither are the people.
