This notion was being circulated in Russian media last Summer, but rather the jihadis were being sent to aid Ukrainian forces. Cheap cannon fodder.

Hard to distinguish various telegram vids I've seen, as the few involving said shock troops could've easily been from the Caucauses or elsewhere in Europe.
