The victim narrative and subsequent mentality that results from it is a big part in keeping the Americans of distant African ancestry from succeeding. They were not the only group to be mistreated in American history and yet they are the one doing the worst. Ironically, they really started doing worse after a lot of the racist laws were repealed (of course, at the same time, a lot of government handout laws that encouraged single motherhood were put in). The Chinese were imported to work on the railroad and were basically treated as slaves. The Irish, Italians, and Eastern Europeans were also imported at various times so they could work in difficult conditions on various projects or in coal mines. Those groups, somehow, don't seem to be having problems today and aren't asking for reparations.
What people miss is that the democrats were and are as racists as they have ever been. However, the started to realize that the oppressive laws they championed didn't actually do that much to keep the black community down. The black community was able to band together and persevered and were actually doing ok. So they did something seemingly counterintuitive but something that ended up working really well. They threw government money at them. Granted, they did it in a way that encouraged more single mother homes, but putting people on welfare regardless will destroy them in the long run. Attacking the black family only speed it up. Giving them a victim complex was designed to ensure they would never rebel and never try to make something of themselves. And a few racists also started planned parenthood to keep the black population down.
Honestly, if reparations were implemented in any manner similar to the welfare system targeted at black Americans (and we can be almost certain that they would be implemented in that way) they would only serve to finish the black community off rather than be of any help to them. Maybe that's why it's being pushed. Because some black people are starting to wake up and realise what is being done to them, and the cabal needs a new way to keep them under control or they risk losing their support. The black community is already naturally suspicious of the government, which is the right point of view. They just need to realise that there is no difference between the government that they think oppresses them and the government that sends them their monthly check. Both are there to keep them under controlled.
Completely agree. It’s sad
The soft bigotry of low expectations.
