Red fuming nitric acid contains substantial quantities of dissolved nitrogen dioxide leaving the solution with a reddish brown color. It acquires yellow color due to decomposition into oxides of nitrogen and water.

we cant rule out nitric acid. I saw the video of the reddish orange color. Did anyone observe it changing to a more yellow color the longer it was in the air? The video was probably too short to witness this.
