People have jobs and families to protect, so hitting the street in protest is not entirely feasible either. How do we "rise up" without accelerating our losses right now?

The one avenue left to us that is still safe is exercising our role as jurors. Those who are educated, and resist the dumbing down by judges and lawyers know that they sit in judgment of both the facts AND the law of a case. The system hates this, but it is our right and duty.
Couple this with the fact that all cases, criminal and civil, are supposed to be heard by jury and you have a huge potential check on the misuse of power. This is how activist judges and renegade officials get reined in. It's slow, but steady. It requires a moral jury pool, which could be the fatal flaw in the whole thing.
