I was thinking about Nikki Haley jumping in the 2024 race and had this thought: seems like the pundit concensus is the more candidates that crowd the field, the better Trump's chances are because they will dilute the the vote, and we all know Trump's base is solid. Maybe Nikki is in it for the dilute factor to help Trump overcome a potential DeSantis challenge. Same for a run by Pompeo, and even Pence. I'm still on the fence about Pence being a white hat/black hat. I actually still think he's on our side.

Until 1804, the Vice-presidency went to the 2nd place finisher.
The 12th Amendment decided that created a duplicitous administration.
So opposition would weasel in by negotiation within the same party, what could go wrong, think LBJ to JFK creating even more PENCE-ive situations.
