I am starting to think that Putin is slow walking this on purpose. Several plausible reasons exist: (1) no reason to increase the carnage on the Russian side - most objectives are already achieved; (2) keeps the west from trying to assert the moral high ground based on Russian "barbarism" in a scorched earth battle plan; and (3) it substantially reduces the amount of weapons and ammo we can send to Taiwan when China decides its time to go.
Yes, if he slow walks this war, then Taiwan must be spared, no matter how much the DS has an agenda. Which makes this whole spy balloon so much more ridiculous, if they thought that the affair would make the population rarked towards yet another war.
