So if Jets fly at mach-1+ and their missiles fly faster than the plane...

So if Jets fly at mach-1+ and their missiles fly faster than the plane are these not hyper-sonic missiles?...what is the big deal many jets still carry missiles from the 1980s that are "Hyper-sonic" by this criteria..... or are they talking about "theater" missiles inter continental missiles.... ?

I'm sure a jet flying at mach-1 is well above the safe threshold for releasing missiles. Just because they can fly that fast doesn't mean they can launch anything at that speed.
