Well, the Egyptian's had a fantastic method of offing someone... riding "The Iron Mare"...which is a sharpened blade turned-up and the person is on a platform above the blade and the executioner in turns cut the cords keeping the platform in place, when the cords are cut the individual rides the blade to the end...

AT THE END---THE BODY FALLS INTO HALVES along the gig line...OUTSTANDING...
