They can easily ignore it, because they're heavily brainwashed. Sports ball, "reality TV," rabid consumerism, etc. So many distractions have been created so as to flood a person's mind with "good-feeling" stimuli. Who has time to look around and observe things , when they can watch brain cancer TV?
