In the 90s, I asked a woman I knew (that lost a lot of her family in the camps) why so many people didn’t have their ear to the ground, and bolt at the first sign of real trouble in the 1930s. She said that so many people didn’t believe that it really was that bad. They didn’t believe that they were in deadly peril. They brushed off talk to that effect that they were paranoid and stupid. The people that saw reality got out of Dodge and survived. The ones that chose ignorance were exterminated.
Life, in general, at all times, is not for the faint of heart. You’ve got to be clear eyed about what’s really happening. If you have any delusions, if you presume that you’re safe, today, you’ve just signed your death warrant. What’s happening now is worse than WWII. It’s in every country. If now isn’t the time to wake up, then no time is.
It's hard to understand evil if you've never seen or felt it before. It's extremely hard to be suspicious of awful deeds if you yourself are incapable of committing them. Intelligence is God given, wisdom is earned.
