So nice of this “professor” to do something to stop this troublesome move of God. It’s interfering with him getting paid to teach the kids how to move with God.
I imagine there are real logistical concerns for the community. I suggest that the worshipping community address those concerns, solve any and all identified problems. Demonstrating the power and love of a Christian community. Through communication, outreach and organization; people can harmonize and cooperate.
But yeah... back off on any attempt to stifle, constrain or confound what is naturally occurring. Then again; God may be working more wonders via conflict... I trust His plan, whatever it is.
I understand Asbury is a very small town - 6,000. they are inundated with visitors and perhaps nowhere to house them. I learned that the Salvation Army rented outdoor heaters for the hundreds of people in overflow outdoors.
Also, this is a university, and students have classes and midterms coming up for which they or their parents have paid. Perhaps many of these students are under 21, which makes Asbury University responsible and liable for student welfare..
Finally, midterms are coming up next week.
This is a lot to consider and balance. In a litigious culture, the university needs to protect itself. Just one or two people who are perhaps not believers can come in and cause a lot of trouble.
In such a very small community, hotels, restaurants, and other services may likely be stressed. Perhaps people in Asbury want to attend.
We should be praying for them if we are concerned. We should be generous with our comments and opinions. Pray for guidance and wisdom and provision. If this is a move of God, (and by all accounts, it is) nothing can stop it and hopefully it will spread across the US and the world.

If one breaks out near me, I’ll open my home.
