Can anyone come up with a legit good reason to not release the j6 footage?

I know the gov wouldn't want it released because it shows their crime, but is there an actual reason to back out on releasing?

Sources of all the footage? Hundreds/thousands of cell phones? Maybe some of the footage contains video of WH operators who were there to get video evidence of DS crimes. I remember seeing on Fox video of the antifa thugs being offloaded from buses, footage I'm sure got subsequently scrubbed from being broadcast. If there were undercover MI there whose job it was to film for evidentiary material, but not to interfere, one wouldn't want those military assets exposed. Holding it all back? - No. Holding select items back? - Perhaps.
