I know the gov wouldn't want it released because it shows their crime, but is there an actual reason to back out on releasing?

Polls like that are meaningless since Kash's audience on Truth Social is of a very specific and predictable niche that you can count on voting a particular way. If you want to have a good heartbeat of a movement: just stroll through the comments section of predominate influencers and get the general vibe.
