"I'm of the opposite sex!" is a pathological, profoundly reality-denying, delusional sexual fantasy story they're telling themselves in their heads. The story is about a sad, lonely, confused person named them, who somehow was born A VICTIM.

According to the insane story, this victim has the wrong sex chromosomes—in every single cell of their body. And they tell themselves they know this, somehow. By feeling it, which is to say thinking it up.

Then they become convinced enough of their delusional fantasy to tell that story out loud. Not only do they wish people would go along with it; they militantly bully and shame and force everyone, including children, to go along with their mental illness, or else those other people are bigots.
