Gaige Grosskreutz filed a lawsuit against Kyle Rittenhouse, Wisconsin local government and various police officers after he was shot by Rittenhouse during a 2020 riot in Kenosha.

I believe this is not uncommon in justified shootings where the attacker ends up living, they often end up going after the victim.
