Don't get me started on copyright, trademark and patents.
I'll just say the reason any of those limitations exist is so they can steal your ideas. I don't have the stomach to go further into it right now.
Well when you do have the stomach I’d like to hear your opinion. I’ve always felt it was another way for the big guys to keep little guys from competing, just like most other government red tape and fees.
Look into"patent pending". I had a situation where I was trying to get something patented and it was continually denied over 5 years because there was a patent pending which I would be in violation of. ... IF THAT PATENT WAS EVER APPROVED. The patent that was pending was so vague that I think nearly everything in that product line could have been covered.
So I submitted again, changing a few things and making it more focused and niche.
Wouldn't you know that the original patent that was the cause of my consternation was denied, but the person submitted another one with some of the ideas that were in my original attempts.... Which I had trimmed out to circumvent his/their stupid pending patent.
And it was approved! And my new attempt now was potentially infringing on his new shiny patent!
To make an even longer story a bit shorter... I never got anything out of it, and he/they/it did very fucking well.
Next one I'll do is copyright and screenplays
