I've been watching The Chosen the past few days, great series. You should watch it.
Yes, you! <points finger at you through your monitor screen>
How did you know I was reading this!? Nah i've watched season 1 already and its great. I've got some catching up to do!
Me too! Started last night and lost a couple of hours of sleep because of it. It has been worth every second. It is very well done.
I've been aware of Lonnie Frisbee since the early 1980's. His testimony is straight up confusing. he struggled with homosexuality and died from AIDS, his first vision of Christ was on LSD. On the other hand he pretty much started the Jesus people movement and influenced John Wimber (Fuller Seminary Missionary Course 510) Our Lord and Savior truly moves and works in mysterious ways! The bible verse about God using the debased and foolish of this world to shame the "wise"
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound . . .
Saw the movie, read up on him afterward. Absolutely fascinating story. A great example of a messy life and the uncertainty and humanity of ministers, and how God can (and does) use the messiest lives.
I didn’t know he was involved in the Vineyard movement too; it’s hard to do Pentecostal church Biblically. (I’m in a different Pentecostal denom in a conservatively Pentecostal church; I have opinions, but the Spirit is welcome to change my mind.)
Pretty sure Wimber and Fulton (started Vineyard?) were non-denominational even tho Wimber taught at Fuller
Interesting, rotten tomato has over 250 audience scores, average is 5 stars!
