This is why I ignore anything about Ukraine war. We have no way to tell if any one report is true. We cannot trust either side. However, we do know there is a lot of obviously fake shit that they try to pass off as real footage.
I don't know who is winning, or even who controls what territory. None of the information is trustworthy.
Unfortunately, you have succumbed to a "pox on both your houses" outlook. The Russian material is not corrupt, so far as I have been able to tell. They don't need to be. The truth is stark enough as it is. There is no reason not to take the Russians at face value. There is no reason to give Ukrainian or Western propaganda any credence whatsoever, for they have engaged in blatant fakery, frauds, hoaxes, and lies. The staged photo is a typical example.
Propaganda has come from both sides in every war. Why would Russia, well-known for its propaganda, not do so this time?
Even suggesting that sounds like Russian propaganda.
Try it and see. You misunderstand "propaganda." It does not necessarily mean lies. It is an effort to get "the word out." Advertising is propaganda, but we don't discount it as "lies," though we may be reserved about being convinced.
In this case, there is absolutely no doubt or question that Ukraine lies profusely and boldly. Anyone who takes their word for anything is a fool. And because the U.S. and NATO are not calling out Ukraine on their debunked lies and frauds, means they are complicit with it and approving of it. The Russian information has only been bad-mouthed by "you can't trust Russians." Really? If that were so, why would NASA trust the Russians to take our astronauts safely to and from the International Space Station? No one has attempted to refute Russian information; there is only denial.
It is interesting that someone (myself) who suggests a source of truthful information is accused of sponsoring "Russian propaganda" when you don't even know what I am talking about.
