Can't interfere with a good hate causing narrative. I'm sure the same is true of the Indian schools here although I would say forced culture shock, like hair cutting and separation, probably played a big factor everywhere by causing depression. In this time and place it is hard to understand what a killer tuberculosis used to be.
I'm not saying the schools were great but let's be honest about what happened there. I'm sure some kids were removed and trafficked but this mass graves story to demonize all white Canadians is bullshit.
Maybe you missed the part where the government forced their way into the homes of these Native people and litterally stole their kids from them. Most never saw their kids again. No wonder genocide can go on when people like you are actually defending this genocide.
Absolutely. And there are some other stories in the same vein. They all strike me as the gossip of bitter old cranks trying to get attention, or scare stories to make children behave. These schools were bound to be hotbeds of disease, every mass settlement was. As I recall the cemetery in question was old, with wooden markers that had rotted away, so it was unkempt and looked like secretive burials.

I know about that and it was indefensible. We are talking about the actual cause of death, though.
If you read my first comment I mentioned the forced separation and forced cultural changes, and speculated that the trauma contributed to morbidity.
