Why not both? They both have their niche.

I like the idea of the AR being the "national gun," but I'll bet there would be many who would argue that the M-14 or even M-1 should have that title.

I DO LIKE the AR-15 platform BUT my heart lies with the AR-10 (.308/7.62) platform!!!
