What is a detainer? U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodges detainers on individuals who have been arrested on criminal charges and who ICE has probable cause to believe are removable non-citizens.

This Sheriff is deputizing federal agents to bring state charges because the federal prosecutors won't.

Thank you for defining detainer. I like that Sheriff, he seems like he's trying to do the right thing. Our borders are a mess and need to be secured immediately.

Interesting idea. That would fit in with the McCarthy-suddenly-gets-religion thing, which was very strange without some negotiating going on some time ago.
