This reminds me of when they purposely misspelled names (I think it was Obama) in order to avoid FOIA requests.

That's smart, I'll start adding that now.

Honestly it's really sad. My pre-vax Dad would have been mortified by post-vax Dad's behavior.

Ever since my Dad got the jab he's had severe memory issues and personality changes. He's a senior so it could be age, but he was always as healthy as a horse and mentally sharp until he got that shot. He no longer has any patience and will be quite rude in certain situations, like having to wait in line. He also overshares and makes inappropriate jokes. I'm constantly having to apologize to people now for his behavior.

That's awesome! Don't get me wrong, I'd still like to experience Disney one day since I've never been. But we definitely didn't regret our decision to go to Universal.

Like you, I feel like if we're going on vacation we're going to do it right. So we got the fancier resort and the Express passes. We barely ever had to wait in any line. The one ride we had to wait for was Hagrids Motorbike because it was new and they didn't allow Express passes. Which, btw, ended up being our favorite ride. HIGHLY recommend you go on that one! It was so fun.

Oh man I forgot about that! Good times. Kmart used to have a cafe with Icee's back in the day as well. That's the one I remember.

I saved for years to take my kids on an awesome vacation down in Florida. Got on some Florida message boards and asked if I should take them to Disney or Universal and the answer was overwhelmingly Universal. That's where ended up going and we had an AMAZING time. I can't imagine Disney being any better.

Exactly. They always seem to be injuring their feet and getting black eyes ;)

I agree, I've never seen one with the company we contract with.

That makes a lot of sense. Us tech nerds handle a lot of things in-house where I work, but AV and access control is one of the things we don't touch. Too difficult and specialized for us.

I'm curious bublet, what does an Electronics Field Tech do?

God Bless Mr. Friend for standing by his morals and the Constitution.

Really? I haven't seen most of those. Got a few about the chemical spill and chemtrails but that's about it. I'll have to go look some of these up since they sound interesting.

I got TikTok as a way to monitor what my kids were watching and now it's one of my favorite apps due to the freedom of speech. Who would have guessed?

There are some conservative users that have been banned on all other platforms that are on TikTok. I've seen videos about big pharma and historical events that are typically blocked everything else. "Conspiracy theories" are fine to be discussed - so you can speak about what's going on in Antarctica, for example. Also comments are not restricted or deleted based on your political views. So you can actually read comments from right leaning users.

Netflix is being sued over this. An Egyptian lawyer has brought a case against them for "erasing the Egyptian identity".

Yeah I'm the same way. There's a young man in our town who looks to be in his mid-20's, mentally healthy, and completely able bodied who begs at intersections all the time. Why can't he put that energy towards a job? As a single parent I've been broke before. I took a second job, sold stuff on eBay, donated plasma, basically anything in order to provide. Plus there's a lot of help available to them in my city. They just don't want to follow the rules in order to get that help.

And don't get me started on a lot of the online "fundraisers" I see (a la gofundme). Maybe I'm heartless....

This is one of the best threads I've read in awhile. I miss the early internet where you could find information similar to the first link (oom2.com) all over the place. So much has been wiped.

I've seen that as well, you're exactly right!

The last time I lost my job to outsourcing some karma came into play. My previous CEO was being investigated for stealing. They found out when he outsourced our entire IT Dept he got a huge kickback from the company he outsourced us to. Along with that and embezzling he went to jail. I also heard the HR/Finance system went down for A MONTH after the foreign workers took over and they lost 7 years of required data.

Exactly. Do you know how many times I've lost my Tech job to an H1B1 worker? And it's never just me, it's the entire Tech dept.
