Yeah, we usually use reposado. (1800 is the same price for blanco and reposado.) As reposado is milder I skip the agave syrup. We’ve made them with agave syrup though. It just depends. I agree that Cointreau is the way to go; better flavor than standard triple sec and not as heavy as Grand M.
