Where are you going in CA? I've been to Saskwatch and Quebec. Both in winter so it was cold as F. But Montreal and 3rivers were very cool. And very good food!
Canucks, help me out here. What's the name of those fries sold in and around Montreal? Like french fries with melted cheese and some type of "gravy" sauce on them. Can't remember what they're called, but they were amazing and if OP is gonna toke and get the munchies, that might make for a solid snack.

OP, if you're going to Quebec/Montreal, get yourself some of these. They were legit

Italian poutine is pretty good.. instead of gravy it's spaghetti sauce. When you're in Montreal go to Cosmo's (on Sherbrooke Street) for a dirty greasy breakfast...any time of day... The pot stores in Montreal are called SQDC. If the weather permits check out the old port. It's a big tourist attraction

In my opinion, stay away from Montreal at all costs. Quebec City is awesome, as are other parts of Quebec, but I hate Montreal with all passion. Generally, the drivers are insane, the people are nasty PsofS, and if you drop something, don’t bend down to pick it up...especially if you see creatures with bandanas in their pockets. Just think dropping the soap.
P.E. Turdeau ruined Montreal, and it has gotten worse and worse every year. They have good marketing of their city, but that’s all.
Enjoy your visit everywhere else, though.
