Same for me and my wife. It’s been a little over a year now; it’s gotten a bit better but my brain still processes certain scents strangely. Anything vaguely nutty or savory — peanut butter, meat, coffee grounds — smells weirdly stale, burnt, ashy … you called it with the old oil/grease smell.
