NATO is doing that on its own. Russia is getting rich off NATO. And god bless ‘em for it
Seems more like a plan to demilitarize Western European NATO members TBH. Rather then entire alliance specifically. As The U.S maintains the domestic capacity to replace their equipment in a reasonable to moderate amount of time at least when compared to Western European domestic Defense industries. And much of Eastern Europe maintains small but fairly efficient defense industries of their own that can meet most of their needs.
And as far as I’m aware. Quite a bit of what the U.S has been sending. They either planned on phasing out, have replacements either entering or getting ready to enter production. Or have future plans to phase out. Plus whatever outdated equipment they’ve been scraping out of Armory’s and storehouses.
Some reports coming out recently are indicating they’re now starting to drag their feat on providing especially new and or harder to replace equipment like the Abrams. Now Military officials are indicating it may take upwards of a year or more before the 31 promised Abrams can take the field.
