This is the biggest piece of horse shit (pun) article I've seen in a while. They come in all sizes. If hair is so big that it requires a significantly larger size helmet the functionality of the helmet is compromised anyway. Change hair style. Decide between passion for riding and passion for big hair.
Or quit with the disciplines that "require" helmet use. I've been on a lot of horses, a lot of rank horses, bucking horses, a helmet has never touched my head. Course I may have lost some brain function from some of the wrecks but whatever. kek
I'm with you. I've been riding most of my life (first time I was 3 and rode behind my grandpa on his horse). The only time I've worn a helmet was for a clinic that required it. I've been concussed twice, but I can't tell any lasting damage.
I'll also note that Christopher Reeves' helmet did him no good whatsoever...his neck was broken.
The only time a helmet would've ever helped me was when I was dash boarded into a metal pipe fence and hit head first. I'm not against helmets, I am just not going to ever wear one myself.
