Wrong, Jesus was in her womb and He cannot be associated with sin. In other words Jesus does not come from sin, He is either perfect or imperfect there is no in between.
Jesus honored her, so should we.
As a quick edit, there are several humans who were assumed into Heaven, some of us did achieve perfection but for most, it is too difficult.
You assume He placed her on a pedestal, He didn’t.
Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.” But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”
Mark 3:31-35
While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.” But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
Matthew 12:46-50
Yes. You’re still saying we need to pretend she was “almost perfect” when that’s not anywhere in Scripture. Where does it say she was to be honored like Christ? Where does it say she was “close to being sinless”?
I’ve yet to see where Christ says any of those things.
Also no one is pretending. When she told Jesus to make water into wine at the wedding, did Jesus not honor his mother and fulfill her request? Or how about when they lost Him and He was at the temple, did He not honor His parents and leave to go with them? Also to the sinless part that is also indicated everywhere as well. Why would the apostles turn to her for guidance after Jesus’s death? If she was so full of sin, why turn to her? I would imagine that would be the worst person to turn too.
Let’s even go before that, how can she even bare Jesus in her womb if she was full of sin? Is Jesus able to come from sin or is it impossible for Him to be associated with it? It’s one or the other dude, in the Bible people were able to achieve this, so why couldn’t she? Or His father foster Joseph?
If you met Jesus right now don’t you think he would want you to respect and honor His mother? This is the issue with trying to figure out Scripture on your own, you claim to be able to source whatever but can’t seem to answer basic questions that are easily findable.
He couldn’t have come from the MALE line, because He would have had the innate sin. But because the Holy Spirit utilized the female, the sin from Adam didn’t affect him.
The real question, unanswered by 2000 years of theology, is HOW it came to be that Mary's womb was sanctified, such that it belonged to God and not the Enemy.
IMO, the answer to that is embedded in the rather unusual history of women and of sons in the old testament, which shows that progressively, God laid conditions to be able to claim the womb, despite Mary being a descendent of fallen Adam and Eve.
Look at Sarah, Rebeccah, Rachel, Jacob, Esau, also Tamar, etc.
Note also, Jesus was born pure, but not perfect. He lived his life in accordance with God's direction, and grew into full perfection and maturity.
"For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings."
See that would be heresy cause someone can learn the truth yes but Jesus IS truth.
He is either God or He is not. Catholics and Christians believes He is the way and the Truth. No man can be what He is.
Basically Mary and the foster father Joseph were as close to sinless as humanly possible which is why God chose them to raise Jesus. They were the only ones who could do it.
If Catholics believe “Jesus is the only way” why do they do so many man made traditions to acquire heaven? ALL the Catholics I’ve seen think as long as they “confess” (which happens rarely) they can keep sinning.
They also lack the ability to understand Scripture because they’re told they don’t need to study it because their priest can just tell them what’s in it.
All I’ve met are illiterate of Scripture because they think they’re “covered” by attending mass and following all the rules of Catholicism.
All traditions that we have all stem from the Bible, unless you believe that is man made?
Also I don’t think you have ran into good Catholics cause many do go to confession or maybe they just didn’t tell you? Also that’s not a ticket to just do whatever you want, your supposed to confess and try not to do it again. Hence the “sin no more” aspect. Ok let’s say a lot don’t know how to quote the Bible off hand, what’s it worth when you can but don’t fully understand the meaning of it because your trying to interpret it on your own? Those Catholics who believe they are “covered” are wrong as no one knows if we are covered or not.
We do believe Jesus is the only way, there is no other way to get into Heaven, even if we are asking for intercession, we are basically asking for prayer and who are we all praying too? You gotta lay off the anti-Catholicism propaganda my guy.
As a quick edit: if we simply go off of what Christ says, then why would you ever be against homosexuality? He said nothing specifically on that as well. But if you indeed know your Bible you would know that He did mention 3 things about marriage
God created man and woman
No sexual acts outside of marriage should happen
Marriage is between a man and a woman
So going off of simply these things, homosexuality is good no? Nope. Just because He didn’t specifically say anything about it doesn’t mean it’s a-ok. It’s called interpretation and having the ability to read between the lines. There is hidden meaning everywhere and that’s what makes the Bible so perfect. I suggest you reread and try again cause the answers to all your questions are literally everywhere. I don’t care whether you believe us or not but at least do your do diligence and understand what we know is the Truth so you can stop being disingenuous.

Not being a dick but are you sure you were talking to me?
Yes. You’re still saying we need to pretend she was “almost perfect” when that’s not anywhere in Scripture. Where does it say she was to be honored like Christ? Where does it say she was “close to being sinless”?
I’ve yet to see where Christ says any of those things.
Honestly, everywhere.

You’re actually incorrect dude.
