Bullock most certainly is aware of much of this; more than likely used or uses adrenochrome. Your description of the ritual where the blood is sucked from that terrible wound......makes perfect sense that it's the adrenochrome that is being produced. When I saw the video that I mentioned, I think I remember that some of the infants died from the trauma. Also realize that, trauma like that can produce cranial nerve damage, along with the rest of it. Shell-shock can produce similar cranial nerve damage.
