For the early birds and night owls: Why is Ohio being specifically targeted right now ?

If the point was to poison the ground to punish right-wing areas and starve us, why target Ohio instead of, say, cornfields in Kansas, potato fields in Idaho or cattle farms in Texas ? Any points where I can start digging ?

Zinc and Lead. Outside of East Palestine are large swaths of both. Can you guess what Zinc and Lead are used for? What nearby State has two plants being built that requires those particular elements?
