Around 2020 they really started ramping up the hyperreal possibilities of deepfakery and greenscreening etc. Hence Channel 4 in the UK doing a deepfake Queens speech that Christmas. Trouble is it works both ways - to fool us that we're seeing something real, or conversely, to make us question if what we've seen for real could have been fake. Pretty smart cuntery.
