YW. A great book that covers theological differences between Catholicism and Protestant theology is "Rome Sweet Home" by Scott Hahn. It is a first person account by a Presbyterian minister and Doctor of Theology that tracks his deep dive into his personal journey. Full disclosure, it is the story of his conversion to Catholicism based on a detailed study of the doctrinal foundations of each religion and his discovery of unresolvable conflicts in the Presbyterian theology; a fascinating read though.
To be honest, I have a hard time with the whole intercession thing. Jesus was so totally accessible to even the lowliest of sinners. I don't see any need or reason for an intercessor. Jesus IS our intercessor between us and God. In fact, he is the Perfect Intercessor. There is no reason to look elsewhere. Jesus is the embodiment of love. He would never turn us away if we seek him with humble hearts.
Anything else is simply playing telephone.
