When everything is given to a society, they cease to be productive. If money loses value and savings and income is lost. Gold is confiscated along with silver. The only people surviving are those that produce and fend for themselves. Seems like this has been done before.

yes, you're right, we have to be productive in some way/helping at least Ourselves, so others don't have to.
think people will be in for a rude awakening when they're expected to take care of their own for a change...
