James Strang was a strange one and considered himself to be a king on Beaver Island. He became a Mormon with Smith and then considered himself to to be the leader of the Mormons. Not sure about the Voree Plates, but according to this article, Strangite was a church located there.

I dated a Strang once upon a time.
