I'm not sure, but the acronym MIR is "peace" in Russian, right? Also, that word order would suggest a non-English original script--perhaps French? So, although the suffix "-phile" may have gained negative connotations in English, especially American English, it hearkens back to the Greek (think Phila-delphia, city of brotherly-love). I think that suffix rings differently in Greek, Russian, Orthodox ears. Peace and Love.
