This is the least offensive thing to happen in Ohio as of late. Tritium appears to be a beta emitter which can be easily blocked (like by a pipe). 400,000 gallons is not a lot of water for a nuclear plant. There’s normally a few million gallons of water. Potentially radiated is a very conservative language compared to reality. The nuclear community always says things making them sound way worse than they usually are. Because the watching world always wants to shutdown nuclear plants. Nuclear is the cleanest energy man can currently and legally produce. You could cleanup all the USAs nuclear waste in a single stadium. Most nuclear waste could be processed into new fuel leaving only truly spent fuel to finish decaying for a long time. My biggest issue with nuclear concerns is that no one seems to know what they are talking about. I work at a civilian nuclear plant and I worked in a nuclear navy ship as well. The company I work for believes or claims to believe in all the stupid green energies, which we all agree that solar and wind suck. But people decrying nuclear do so from a place of ignorance in my experience. If anyone has a question on nuclear power things, let me know. I can provide some direction.
