Ah well, now that's a different matter. We were discussing magnetic pole shift. What you are referring to is a much more controversial subject, actual, physical pole shift. There is evidence in Antarctica and elsewhere that once regions that were temperate and fertile "suddenly" became frigid and uninhabitable. Various theories from Immanuel Velikovsky, Zecharia Sitchin, and others describe how (in their opinions) the Earth actually rolled over physically, and suddenly in a matter of hours leading to widespread cataclysms and the Earth being wiped clean of nearly all living things.
Ancient flood accounts from nearly every civilization and mastodon carcasses being found at the Arctic Circle with flowers and leaves still in their mouths suggest perhaps something like that happened in the distant path.
But we can't conflate the two "poles"... magnetic poles refer ONLY to the magnetic field of N and S. The physical poles are specific geological positions and for the most part are very stable.... until they aren't. Some theories suggest that we are about to experience a physical pole shift, but so far it's in the realm of conspiracy theories, the planet Nibiru, and the Zeta Talk website (https://www.zetatalk.com/ ).
I'm not saying any of these cataclysm theories are valid, just putting them out there for you to consider.
