This is not very surprising. Over the past couple years there were times when Internet was pretty much completely turned off in the state of Kashmir. To understand whats going to its important to see India's position in the global war against the Cabal.
Modi (India's PM) is a staunch Trump ally and a patriot and has been holding the line in India as the rest of the alliance is doing. The Cabal seems to be fighting back making some of their last desperate moves all over the world, including India.
So they have typically used Kashmir as their instigation ground after the manufactured Myanmar migrant crisis failed to work out after Modi took care of it.
The Kashmir has been controlled by the Cabal, via Pakistan for a while so Modi took some extra-ordinary measures to squash that down.
It is not interesting that they are targeting Punjab. Punjab was hotbed of terrorism in 80s, and there was a movement to secede. Obviously as a kid I had no idea about Cabal, but looking back, it was definitely driven by the Cabal to control India.
Looks like after failing their Myanmar refugee plan and Kashmir plans, they have now turned to Punjab. Honestly, afaik, Punjab didnt have any issues for the past 30-40 years so trying to instigate that is pretty lame.
I have seen the Khalistan (the Punjab secession movement) posters even here in Australia and just the other day I was remarking that the Cabal seems to be stirring something up.
TL;DR - Cabal seems to be making their last desperate moves. Punjab not their best target. Modi seems to be taking control of things as usual. The guy being hunted by the cops is probably the local face of the Cabal puppets.
Sikh's have been historically a persecuted minority at various times. They are also the butts of the Indian version of Polish jokes.
Hence they have a strong sense of family/tribalism and are very watchful of whether people are looking down on them.
Every one I have come across are lovely people, and contrary to the stereotype they are usually very mild and gentle. They are also very astute business people and thrive running small businesses.
Unfortunately, the Khalistan (secession movement for Punjab) seems to have ramped up really hard lately, and hence a lot of them are talking about it and supporting it. Its similar to all other "Whatsapp activism" - suddenly a thing starts trending in people's social circles and everyone is a keyboard warrior about it. I hope its the same with this nonsense as well.
My wife spotted this and she knew it would interest me.
It seems like a very big deal to turn off all mobile internet in a large and important Indian state
calling u/bubble_bursts ..

Wow! Thank you for that detailed and very interesting response. I'll have a lot more basic knowledge next time I hear news from that region.
FWIW, in general Sikhs I know in the UK seem to be politically astute and curious. Perhaps even watchful.
Thank you fren.

I thought of another word for the Sikhs I know here.. They are serious people.
Punjab is the breadbasket of India. Like California, for one, is to the US.
