This is an article on the EPA website for Times Beach Missouri that was a super fund site in the early 80s for dioxin. Fairly good breakdown of how I remember this when I was growing up. https://www.epa.gov/mo/town-flood-and-superfund-looking-back-times-beach-disaster-nearly-40-years-later
