I don't think the DA ever intended to arrest Trump. It was intended as a Sword of Damocles to hang over Trump's head while he campaigned. But, Trump cleverly called their bluff, and the DA folded.

I don't buy this. This indictment seems like a last desperate push, under pressure by their overlords. The overlords dont care if their puppets crash and burn at that point. They are gonna throw all their assets at Trump.

Even the left knows that the people who vote for Trump dont care about any sword of Damocles - after 7 years of withhunt.
