Please qualify that with something along the lines of some Christians can be ______ (this or that undesirable thing)

Please do not give up on finding "a good church!" It's still possible. ALSO, it's quite possible that the main thing you'll be doing is forging relationships with GOOD Christians who you will later be in a home church with. The current legislative agenda will drive the Church underground; that hasn't happened yet.
