Turning to the community I trust the most here, with a question about video hosting. I have family in various parts of the world. I also have a young son. We have a lot of video footage of his various activities that family members want to see. I have the video files stored on a local drive and the ability to edit videos, I just need an online platform to share them. I was gonna go with YouTube as a private channel for family only via invite but I'd prefer to avoid the Google/YouTube machine for obvious reasons. Ideally a video platform where playlists can be created and everything is ad-free since the "channel" I'm hoping to create will be shared with a very non-techy audience (Baby boomer gen with extremely limited tech/computer savvy)
Any recommendations?
Depending on how tech savy you are, why don't you consider setting up your own web server. An old pc, direct connect to your provider and web hosting app. You can design your own web page and make it as easy as you want for your family. And it will be mostly free.
