It can be cheap car if your buy it used. So car is not the real issue and used Mercedes could be cheaper than a new Toyota.

If you save $10k a year, in 4 years u have $40k as which could be enough for down payment for house. Well if u can only save $5k that’ll be 8 years. So I would not considered this couple as rich.
