I tried pasting the full proposed bill into Chat GPT to discuss it and it would not acknowledge and discuss the bill. It would reference other bills or make up a bills.
Edit: I tried taking it and discussing it bit by bit and it took it better. Maybe I overloaded it at first. But it still tries to change the bill I'm discussing with it.
Here is the response I received when I asked about concerns about violations of rights:
There are several provisions in the bill that could potentially raise concerns about the violation of rights for citizens of the United States.
One such provision is section 6, which allows the Secretary of Commerce to require a mandatory declaration from any person who is a party to a covered transaction, and to request additional information deemed necessary. This could be seen as a potential invasion of privacy, as it requires individuals to disclose potentially sensitive information.
Section 9 also grants the Secretary of Commerce broad authority to review and potentially prohibit covered transactions that could pose a threat to national security. While the intent of this provision is to protect national security interests, it could potentially be used to target specific individuals or groups based on their perceived threat level, which could raise concerns about due process and equal protection.
Additionally, section 15 includes a provision exempting the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act for any action taken to implement this Act. This could potentially lead to a reduction in transparency and accountability for the actions taken under this bill.
Overall, while the bill is primarily focused on foreign investment and national security, there are provisions that could potentially impact the rights of U.S. citizens. It would be important for policymakers and the public to closely monitor the implementation of this legislation to ensure that it is being used in a way that is consistent with constitutional rights and protections.
