I just want to add that I am Agnostic. I was a practicing Christian for over 40 years. I was heavily involved, on a scholar level, with studies on the Bible and its history. I am here because I am a Republican, I believe we are losing our country and that evil is at the helm. I still believe in morals and most importantly I believe that everyone, even the ones that are not on our side, should have freedom of speech & freedom to live the way they choose.
I ask this one thing, if you truly are believers, to find the love for others that you believe Christ had for all man. The stories we all know so well showed that he even loved his enemies. Even though I no longer believe, I try to have love for all man. It’s the one thing that is actually lacking in Christianity these days. Instead of damning this man or anyone else who does not believe, find the love. If we all choose to show love, things would be vastly different in this world.
And as a side note, there are many, many people that do not believe in God that are on our side of right. Don’t alienate just because of their “religion” or beliefs. Don’t assume. We need all the help we can get in this fight.
I'm sorry if you took my op as alienating. It wasn't met to be. Honestly its not my business what you or anyone else believes. I have enough trouble guiding my own belief and hold no animosity to any in that regard. I actually can't find a church to attend because I struggle with the doctrine in our religious houses these days too so I get it.
I do believe morals need make a come back with or without God. I think this will happen slowly and has already begun. People are seeing what the lack of morels is doing to our culture.
I believe everyone should be able to speak their mind and live free. I don't believe the sexualization of everything is going over well so I do think we need to come to an agreement as to what is socially accepted. Sex used to be something you did in private regardless what your persuasions were. I would stand for that!
As for loving my enemies. I don't proposed that I am perfect. Far from it. If I were wouldn't need to depend on Christ to defend me before God when I'm there at the mercy seat. I'm probably going to need more than my share when I cross over. Not going to lie, my ability to respond with love and kindness to those that seek to persecute me and mine has seen better days. Its really difficult to shut down that fight or flight instinct when you constantly being attacked. I tend to keep my mouth shut rather than respond in anyway and push back when I get pushed into a corner. I have adult children and realized a long time ago their path is their own.
My reason for the post was because I honestly do not know how this man can face cancer without faith and prayer. His anger was palatable. I see a parallel to cancer and what we are facing at this time in our country.
Please do not take offense. We are all on the same team because we want the good things about this country to continue. How we all got on this team is irrelevant. We are here together and we will succeed or fail together. Thats the foundation of this country. No offense intended.
I did not take offense at all. Life is too short for that. I just wanted to say my peace on the issue of beliefs. I know there are a lot of Christians on this site and that is a’OK with me. I have zero issues with that. But I also want others to know that just because we may not believe in God as they define him, we can still fight for the same goal. I think the sexualization of children is absolutely horrible. I think Abortion is beyond awful. And I am pretty sure we would probably agree on most things since we are both here on this site.
I have faith, but it is no longer in God as Christianity defines him. That man could just be depressed as well. Mental health goes in the shitter with diagnoses such as cancer. I have a very dear friend who does not believe in God and is currently fighting breast cancer (btw she is vaxed, 4x’s boosted and got the diagnoses a few months after initial vax) and she is so positive, and believes in the power of healing, just not from God. And guess what, in spite of being the fastest growing breast cancer, she is kicking its ass.
I guess my only hope for these posts is to bring awareness and ask all to be open minded to those who may not believe In God. Not all of us are libtards!! ;)
