I'm happy to take the wins as they occur, battles in the war, and certainly this issue can be addressed after some of the rot has been cleared from society and government. I did find an interesting article (though forgot to grab a link) that Trump, in 2018, I think, wanted the legal gun ownership age for rifles raised from 18 to 21. I found that surprising (though I have no real basis for this opinion).
My general opinion on youth nowadays is that they're far less mature than they were even twenty years ago. This is likely due to the deliberate dumbing-down and winding-up (for violence) of our youth by the corrupt education/indoctrination system currently in place. This isn't to say there aren't many fine, responsible 16-year-olds, for example, who would be fine, safety-oriented gun owners. It's really a matter of temperament, upbringing and maturity, not a one-size-fits-all issue.
Edit: The above-referenced map chart has the correct current age restriction for Florida so use it for comparison to other states (and it would be wise to double-check info there with the actual Statute link). Anon u/imissvoat pointed out that in the graph chart specifically in the ensuing Florida section, the description of the age restriction has NOT been updated from 18 to 21 to reflect the current firearms age restriction
The country/map chart in the Overview section of the US page I'd cited has the correct age requirement. I'd pointed that out for comparison with other states. As far as the detailed description in the graph for Florida...
It looks as if Wiki didn't update their US page's description for the state OR the state page description with the correct info, but drilling down to the actual law, Statute 790.065(13) it has the current legal age correct.
Edit- good catch, btw, and thank you for pointing that out.
