Being readily able to apply Basic Mental Math helps. Just because something is on sale doesn’t mean it’s actually a great price.
Learn to sew. A couple inch square of denim and a needle and thread can save a pair of Jeans. Not to mention fabric from old clothes and blankets can be used to patch new ones.
Get a useful skill. A well honed skill can be just as valuable as a pocket full of cash. Also don’t immediately discount a skill you may have as not being useful just because it doesn’t fit a stereotypical idea of a “Useful Skill”. IE Carpenter, plumber etc. An artist or video editor can trade their services just as readily as a carpenter or plumber. Granted that also comes with the caveat of knowing your proverbial market.
Don’t go into a situation blind. Particularly one where you end up signing a contract or may end up spending large amounts of money. And if your shopping for a cell service provider, for the love of God. Do not trust the sales staff. Not to say they are bad or horrible people mind you. But they are there to sell you stuff and some will try to upsell you and convince you to buy more. The particularly unethical ones will happily lie to your face to land a sale.
The above is My advice to save a buck. The cell service one I note specifically after watching my aging father get talked into a bad deal by a particularly scummy sales rep. I did try to warn him. But an old man set in his ways and beliefs is a hard thing to change.
Thanks for the good Advice.
Of course, humanity lived fine how many 1000s years with NO cell phones :), so how about a Landline👍 costs us only $7.30/month, & suffices.
